This book is not for casual inquirers of truth, but for those who want truth at any price, and are willing to change their former theories, philosophies and theology if necessary. Joy Dawson PREFACE The book of Job is for today. It is a prophetic picture foretelling the nature of God’s dealings in His people in the end times. This book is not written in order to give you greater insight into a book of the Bible. It is written to enable you to understand the nature and purpose of the fire that is touching your life in these last days.

That’s not surprising, as these are the bookends of the Bible, reflecting between each other the ways of God. ” Since the book of Genesis occurs first chronologically in the canon, many of us have assumed that it was the first Bible book written. If you’ve assumed (like I always had) that Genesis was the first Bible book written, I hope you can open your thinking to the possibility that Job was written before Moses wrote Genesis. I will take the remainder of this chapter to validate my claim that Job is the first Bible book written, because I draw some very important conclusions based upon that premise.

But Job is a prime example that it’s also possible for God’s people to suffer greatly even though they’ve done nothing wrong. We must recover the understanding that it's possible to do everything right and still experience great distress and upheaveal. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous” (Psalm 34:19). It must be settled without discussion or argument: Job did nothing sinful to incur his evil calamity. The more I study this book, the higher my estimation of Job grows. He was one of the godliest men of all human history.
